The Mentoring Programme at University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague was established based on experience from international universities, which have long demonstrated the positive impact of mentoring on the professional and career development of early-career researchers and other professionals.
The programme was first implemented at UCT Prague in 2017 on the initiative of Anna Mittnerová and her colleagues within the international TRIGGER project (TRansforming Institutions by Gendering Contents and Gaining Equality in Research) and the UCT Prague Institutional Plan for 2016–2018.
Until 2017, the mentoring programme was part of the GRO – Gender Balance project. The long-term sustainability of the programme was subsequently ensured through its integration into the regular activities of the newly established Counselling and Career Centre at UCT Prague. Outputs from the 2017 pilot year, including video interviews with programme participants, are available on YouTube.
Since 2018, the mentoring programme has been fully organized and coordinated by the Counselling and Career Centre at UCT Prague, which oversees its further development and implementation. Their website provides the current programme schedule, information about previous editions, the application form, and a handbook for mentoring participants.
